   Hi,

   I just chatted with Shopify and she said that it is not possible to connect to a person's Shopify store from a DW page or embed it. The person must create a website using Shopify to have a store. Not sure if she was correct.

   What about Adobe Magento? I can not find any information on if it can be embedded or linked to within DW CC.

   Is there a webstore that a client can maintain and be linked to from a Dreamweaver Website, or are us DW out of luck? I realize that there is a DW template to create a DW store but it looks cumbersome and time consuming to use. I would like a client to create their own store so that I do not have to be concerned with maintenance and security and payment processing,...

   If you don't want to worry about security and payment processing, linking from the "home" site to something like a Shopify site is an easier option.

   Hi John,

   If I link to the home Shopify page, it is the home Shopify page where the client can log in. I do not see anything otherwise like going to the client's shopping site.

   I will look at the other one you recommended more tomorrow to see how it works and if it handles security and payment processing. And if I, being the developer, has to input all the merchandise myself. My days of data entering have been over for a long time! :-)

   I have used PHP Jabbers store for a client: snowcrestmusic.com
   This is embedded into the site.

   It works well, though it doesn't have a lot of intricate shipping options.

   Another Client : darrylcharlesmagic.com uses a 3rd party store, not embedded. It is a print on demand store. In this case, it is just linked from his site.

   I don't like the business model of embedded third party/off server carts. I have done about 10 shopping carts over the past years. I have found a good value with WebAssist's PowerStore. One time license purchase, no monthly fees, excellent support and customizations.

   Current examples:

   I don't need one yet. Just want to be prepared.

   I am not sure the gal I chatted with at Shopify told me the complete story about linking to one of their client's website. She did tell me about their Buy Button, and Shopify Light plan but not sure if I got the complete story on how it works. I need to read the stuff at the website.

   A better question on WA site, methinks.

   I do recall a few off server conversations with Ray but I can only say for sure that no matter the issue, Ray will make it work. I have used his cart for 10 years or more, and no matter the challenge to change, he can do it within a reasonable fee. I have asked for tons of customizations over the years, and he has always delivered, no matter how complex. He has never ever let me down.

    My interactions with Ray have also always been outstanding! From what I can see, it is still not MySQLi ready as a standalone product yet.

    I reached out to Ray and he said:

    "It is actually updated for MySQLi, but I haven’t started advertising it as such because I want it to be tested by a smaller number of people and I don’t have a migration strategy for older versions."
