Hi - On my art website, I use PBM in my painting galleries to display a larger version of each painting when a thumbnail is clicked and ideally, I like the pop-up window to be as centred as possible on the screen. This works really well for landscape-orientated paintings (those wider than they are tall). The problem I have is for portrait-orientated paintings (those taller than they are wide), because in my browser window, the painting is always cut-off top and bottom (because of it being being centred). I find I can scroll down in my browser to see the bottom of the pop-up window, but it is impossible within the viewport to scroll-up to see the top of the painting in the pop-up window. The other problem is that the viewer may not understand to scroll up or down at all and thus miss the painting title and closing 'X' displayed at the bottom of the pop-up window....regardless, they can never scroll UP to see the top of the painting when it is enlarged. I tried playing with the options for "vertical offset", but adding either a negative or positive number of pixels didn't seem to budge the pop-up window either up or down vertically in the browser window. So, maybe that's not what I should be doing, OR there are some other options that should be manipulated at the same time to make it work...?
So to summarize, I would like for portrait-orientated images in my pop-ups to be centred horizontally in the browser, but I would like them to be pushed down vertically so that the top of the painting can be seen in the browser when the pop-up originally opens...this way the the user will also get a more visual "clue" that they should scroll down to see the rest of the painting lower-down in the viewport.
Here is a link to one of my galleries that has a whole row of "portrait-orientated" paintings in the first row of the "Animals" gallery: http://valiart.ca/fauna.html The worst offender is the painting second from the left in the top row because it is really narrow (tall).
Thanks!

Hi - Thanks, but neither of those articles help because I do not own Magic Box and my Pop Box Magic version is already up-to-date. I'm hoping for direction and a fix within my current, up-to-date version of Pop Box Magic for my problem. Cheers!

Oh wow!, sorry `bout that :(
I do unfortunately tend mix things up somewhat, a pity in this scenario as mbx is probably just what you could do with.
Just a heads up but it looks like you are a little behind with pbx....

Hi - thanks for this. You are right about being behind with PBX. However, that brings up my previous confusion: my extension manager shows that I have version 1.1.6, which the Project7 website updates page says is the latest version. I see from the update link that you provided that I have to do some extra steps in deleting old script files in the folder on my site, opening the widget, etc. I had just assumed that if I made an update that everything would get updated within Dreamweaver....but I was wrong!!
General question: does one have to delete script files every time one does an update of EVERY Project7 product....not just Pop Box Magic?
Lastly: are you saying that the only way to do what I want with my pop-up window (my original post) is to buy Magic Box? What is the "vertical offset" option for in PBX? Can it not be used to push the top of the pop-up window down in the browser window? Or should I use a mode option like "position at cursor"? (If so , that would not be great as I really want the lightbox option :-(
Cheers!

Every products updates page contains installation instructions, these should always be followed completely. Most updates will include changes to either the css or scripts file, the installation instructions will let you know which need updating and subsequent upload to our server.

Once you upload the latest PBX script file to your server you'll see that the Pop Box will open just like what you are looking for. The top offset should not require any adjustment.

Awesome! It's working perfectly now, thank -you!
And I promise to not be so hasty and to follow ALL instructions when installing future updates.
Cheers!
