   I know that we can change design elements in Harmony and Quick Grid by means of user classes, but I'm wondering how practical it would be to add some custom CSS to alter the built-in themes. Would this be more trouble than it's worth?

   What would be great is if I could redefine the colours in one place, and have the redefinitions effect both plugins.

   Again, perhaps user classes do that already...but it would be great if there was a way to alter say, all the beige themed items in my site at once.

   Any good way to go about this?

   You could setup a combined selector that will set the colors for both HMY and QGM, with the !important directive so that it over-rides the default settings.

   For example, if you have the Beige theme assigned, add this style rule to any style sheet:

   .p7HMY.hmy-color-root-beige,
   .p7HMY .hmy-content-wrapper.hmy-color-content-beige,
   .p7QGM.qgm-bg-beige,
   .qgm-grid.qgm-col-bg-beige > .qgm-col {
   background-color: rgb(231,213,175) !important;
   color: #000000 !important;
   }

   This will now control the Beige colors for any HMY or QGM instance on the page. Edit the colors in this rule and all HMYs and QGMs that are assigned the Beige theme will be affected.
